I've been a midwife for over 30 years and a self-employed Independent Midwife for over 20 years so have a deep knowledge, skill base and intuitive feel for all things to do with pregnancy and birth.  I love supporting women and their family through this amazing, special time, giving joined up, calm midwifery care.  I give unhurried antenatal care from when you book me in your home, at a time that suits you, really listening to you and respecting your choices.  Plenty of time for emotional and practical support as well as the physical checks to keep you and baby safe.

 

Birth at home or I'll accompany you to hospital at the right time. And then after your baby is born, all the support and information you need to feel confident and relaxed as well as the physical checks.

Becoming Families is a new non-profit making service, developed in response to an unmet need for

evidence-based and accessible support for local parents in their journey to becoming families.

We recognise that this life-changing time brings challenges, as well as joys, and want to be there to help smooth the transition and give new families the best possible start. 

We offer a range of courses, workshops, groups and 1:1 support.

Our facilitators are highly trained antenatal teachers (DipHE), experienced health professionals and specialist family support workers, with many years' experiencing in working with, listening to and supporting new parents.  This guarantees you a holistic approach to our work and high quality class facilitation.

Becoming Families Worcestershire
Postnatal Emotional Wellness Support Group

Becoming Families is a local Community Interest Company (non-profit making service) developed in response to an unmet need for evidence-based and accessible support for local parents in their journey to becoming families.

 

We recognise that this life-changing time brings challenges, as well as joys, and want to be there to help smooth the transition and give new families the best possible start. 

After listening to the needs of local mothers who have lived with postnatal depression and anxiety, we have collaborated with Roots Psychology Group to fill the gap in postnatal mental health provision.

The new Postnatal Wellbeing Support group is aimed at new mothers who are struggling with their emotional wellbeing. It is an informal, relaxed, but informative and supportive group, meeting the first and third Wednesday afternoons of the month starting October 2nd. Babies up to a year old are very welcome to attend :)

Karen Ramsay Birth and Postnatal Doula

Karen offers calm support, helping families to settle in after the birth.  Practical help around the house gives mothers a chance to rest and recover, so that they can enjoy the early days with their new baby.  As a former midwife with four children of her own, she believes that a gentle start, allowing new mothers time to gain confidence with feeding and baby care, can make a real difference for the whole family.

Antenatal Care

During the antenatal period there can be a lot of questions and/or worries. I can help you find the information you need to tackle those, from local support groups to what options you have regarding your birth. We can create a personalised care preference sheet to inform people involved in your birth of your decisions and preferences.

Having a baby should be a joyful and confident experience, so my focus is to create a safe and comfortable environment for you to bring your baby into the world and get the best start possible. Emotional, practical, educational, and non-judgemental support tailored to your wants and needs.

 

Postnatal Care

My job doesn't have to be over once you have birthed your baby.  I can help postnatally too! A listening ear, I make the BEST cups of tea, light housework, breastfeeding support and more. I can look after your new-born and/or siblings so you can rest, have a bath or have a coffee (and cake) with your friends. It is really about your wants and needs.

Hi I'm Hannah and I run Belle's Babies. I am a qualified teacher, baby massage instructor and soon to be baby yoga instructor. I have completed and finishing off my qualification as a mental health well-being practitioner as well. Once I had my daughter I decided to build my own business using the experience I had of teaching in both mainstream and special education, as well as training in other fields to create classes for my local area. Working with children has always been my passion and this also allows me to spend more time with my beautiful daughter. 

 

Belle's Babies is based in Kidderminster and the surrounding areas of the Wyre Forest. We offer antenatal, postnatal, baby massage and stay and play sessions. Baby yoga will be arriving early in 2022. 

 

Belle's Babies offers a 1-2-1 Postnatal classes based on mental wellbeing for parents and their families. Following the Beyond Birth course created by Sophie Burch (aka The Mamma Coach) we explore a variety of themes and discuss and explore a variety of techniques to help with mental well-being around the challenges and changes a new baby can bring. We are not a Mental health service but a class that can help teach you methods to aid your mental well-being. The sessions are preventative to help protect and preserve the mental health of parents by helping you to use simple, effective and enjoyable practices in everyday life. 

 

The course is based over 6 weeks and 6 different themes and follows a similar structure each week where we explore a topic/theme, complete mindfulness exercises and explore techniques to help aid mental well-being. We explore techniques such as journaling, mindfulness, meditation, aromatherapy and more.

Home Start

Home-Start offers support, friendship and practical help to parents with young children in local communities, offering a unique service delivered by trained and supported local volunteers, who visit families at home to offer informal, friendly and confidential support. To help give children the best possible start in life, Home-Start supports parents as they grow in confidence, strengthen their relationships with their children and widen their links with the local community, to promote better outcomes for parents and children.

Birth & Breastfeeding Club

I believe that the way we live leave us very vulnerable to feeling lonely in pregnancy and in the postnatal period.

 

The Birth & Breatfeeding club was created for women to easier access support directly from other women. They can either directly chat with me via the facebook page, join the group to get online support or come to one of our meet-ups.
