Mother and Baby Yoga
New mother and baby postnatal yoga classes starting in Badsey from 27/2/2020.
Postnatal yoga is shown to help relieve aches and pains, help with recovery after childbirth and to help emotional well-being. Plus this will be a lovely opportunity to meet other new mums in your local area and hopefully develop friendships.
Classes will include yoga for mums (with plenty of things to entertain your baby and some involvement of them too with the asanas) and we will also do some nursery rhymes and baby yoga. Plus the all important drinks and biscuits at the end of class.
Pre booking is essential as completion of a health questionnaire is required to aid with planning and tailoring of the session to your needs.

Our EAPP Pilatebaby classes are suitable for mothers with babies 8 weeks old until on the move. Learn and practice specific exercises taught by a highly experienced Women’s Health Physiotherapist to regain your core and pelvic floor strength, spinal mobility, posture and much more whilst also bonding with your baby. Social time after the class to meet other mums and babies.
The Pilatebaby class will focus on:
- Improving your pelvic floor, core and whole-body strength.
- Improving your rib control, flexibility and thus and breathing pattern.
- Increasing your fitness levels to return to sport and running.
- Enhance your postural awareness & strengthen your mind–body connection.
- Focus sessions and discussions with other mothers during social time.

Postnatal pilates and exercise
Claire has 16 years of experience and is currently lecturing within the field at University. Previous positions include work with the USA Ski Team and Australian Olympic Gymnasts. As an Exercise Physiologist and practicing Psychologist Claire has worked closely with health care professionals and treated a range of patients with chronic diseases such as CHD, Diabetes, Arthritis and Osteoporosis. In addition Claire is a trained life coach and has extensive experience in the field of sport and exercise psychology helping people overcome obesity, fear of failure and other mental skills concerns.
I have two children aged 2 and 4 who I am besotted with. I found the stress of working full time with children too much and wanted more balance. I am passionate that exercise has to be fun to be maintainable. I ensure the classes are free from judgment, relaxed and they always seem to be full of laughter.

Our classes are specifically designed for mums-to-be and postnatal mums and are taught by highly trained ante and postnatal instructors.
During the antenatal class we work on strength, stamina and endurance in the muscle groups traditionally weakened during pregnancy while releasing muscle tensions which will help to counteract all those niggles, aches and pains. It will also set you up for the physical demands of late pregnancy, labour and those early days with a little one.
Our postnatal classes help ladies to rebuild their strength and body shape in a safe way. We have a free Creche at all daytime classes so you can see your baby and know they are safe whilst you exercise.

You can join the Mum & Baby classes after 6 weeks if you had a non complicated birth. After 8 weeks if you had any complications and after 12 weeks if you had a c-section. Ensure you and baby have had the all clear and your 6 week check up before attending. Babies can attend until crawling.
Mum & Baby Pilates
Postnatal Pilates is the perfect class for you to gradually get back into exercise with your baby. The class will be at a nice gentle pace giving you time to regain pelvic floor strength and gently knit the body back together.

Blossom Baby Yoga Fun & Fitness
Blossom Baby Yoga Fun & Fitness classes involve exercise for you and your baby. Many exercises are enjoyed together, some with the use of props such as scarves, ribbons, gym ball, puppets etc. We also use lots of rhyme, songs and music.
We start with a gentle warm up and dry massage (over clothes and no oils) and end with a lovely relaxation.
The class offers quality physical stimulation including flowing postures, holding, movement, touch, voice and relaxation. It induces a happy, care-free and lively parent-infant interaction, which develops as your baby grows.
All activities are also designed with the 3 prime areas of the Early Years Foundation framework in mind so they help with your baby’s communication and language, physical development as well as their personal, social and emotional development. Baby classes are designed for babies aged 6 weeks to crawling.
The mental and physical benefits of this fun activity are wide-ranging including better and longer sleeping patterns, easier digestion (colic/wind), self-esteem, better body awareness assisting with development skills for rolling and crawling, as well as enhanced bonding and communication with your baby.

Baby yoga classes are a joy! They offer a lively mix of yoga-inspired practices for mother & baby, to promote health & well-being for the whole family. Nurturing yoga practices are explored to promote recovery for mums & support baby's growth & development.
All are welcome, so mums need no previous experience of yoga to attend these classes & babies are welcome any time after eight weeks up until they are fully mobile & ready to move on! Twins/multiples are always welcome at no additional cost, as well as older siblings, who just love to get involved.

The sessions run in 6 week courses: Beginners, Advanced and PHD, taking you right the way from 8 weeks up to toddler hood.
Sessions include a dry massage routine for your baby and a range of baby exercises (with singing!) that will culminate in a baby exercise routine for the whole body.
The courses gradually advance with your babies development, supporting the muscular, skeletal, neurological, digestive and circulatory systems, helping babies to develop balance, coordination and spacial awareness.
The sessions are also dedicated to your well-being so we will practice a range of gentle exercises suitable for post-natal recovery, as well as a relaxation sequence for mothers and babies.
You don’t need to bring anything other than baby! Mats, cushions and towels are supplied.
The course is suitable from 8 weeks .

What do I need?
***During this current situation all classes are being run via live stream (Zoom) So you can get all the benefits of the class but from the comfort of your own home.***
· You just need a quiet corner, a yoga mat (or towel will do!) a cushion and a blanket. You just need Internet access and it can be streamed on phone, tablet, laptop of Internet TV. Just bring yourself, baby, a bottle of water and some loose comfortable clothes for your yoga practice.
Once we return to classes in person all mats, blankets, cushions and equipment are provided; just bring yourself, baby, a bottle of water and some loose comfortable clothes for your yoga practice.
